Top To Tail 1910’s

The decade though unknowingly at its onset, was going to be dominated by the wholesale slaughter and maiming of millions of males on the fields of Europe. The effect was to never really allow the period to develop its own obvious unique style that had marked the first 10 years of the 20th century and would continue to do so from the 20’s onwards.

This is not to say that fashion did not morph from the previous 10 years, but the changes were rather more subtle than pronounced. The sack suit though it did not completely overthrow the morning/frock coats for formal day wear it did become far more common. As did the tuxedo started to replace the tail suit for formal evening attire
