Top To Tail 1930’s
The 30’s was the first decade where celluloid became the big influencer, and who wouldn’t want to look like Clark Gable or Marlene Dietrich. With men’s fashion the now iconic double-breasted suit was making not its first inroads, but in the 30’s it became standard menswear, it differed from its approaching 1940’s cousin by being shorter and tighter in the jacket and excessively baggy in the trousers, and for the ladies the all-encompassing female silhouette found itself draped in silk, descending from the shoulders to the ankles, expressing unadulterated femineity as never before.
